It suits a candidate with an interview in the next few weeks who wants a short, focused set of interview patterns, with videos and a certificate. - It is short and focused. About 20 hours is easier to finish before an interview than a long course.

- It gives a certificate of completion. Our self-paced course does not.
- It is one of the best-known names in system design interview prep, and many engineers have used it.
Pick Grokking if your interview is a few weeks away, you already know the building blocks, and you want videos and a certificate.

- You want to learn system design from the basics, not only interview patterns. Ours starts with latency, load balancing and caching and goes up to distributed systems and reliability.
- You want far more depth for less money, paid once.
- You want help while you read: an AI tutor sits beside every lesson and answers from the lesson you are on.
Where ours falls short
- It has no videos. Every lesson is written.
- The self-paced course has no human coach, no mock interviews and no certificate.
- It is a smaller, newer site, online since April 2026.

Is Grokking on DesignGurus the same as Grokking on Educative?
