Free courses are a good start. A live programme adds a teacher who reviews your work and a fixed weekly pace. Check each source before you pay.
What a good agentic AI course should make you build
- A tool-calling loop written by hand, so you know what a framework does for you.
- A RAG pipeline whose retrieval you measure (recall@k), then improve with chunking, hybrid search and a reranker.
- An agent with state, loop limits, a checkpointer that survives a crash, and a human approval step before a risky action.
- An MCP server with least-privilege tools, treating tool output as untrusted input.
- An eval set built from real failures, with an LLM judge whose agreement with you is measured, run on every change.
- Tracing, guardrails and a cost per task, before anything goes live.
